Overview

The Bardonecchia Kona Bike Park, located in the area of the ski lifts of Bardonecchia, is a true paradise for bikers who can try their hand at a number of disciplines such as mountain bike, downhill, free ride and cross country.

The whole area is covered by over 400 km of tracks from an altitude of 1300 metres up to 3000 meters. There are also two Junior Parks (one at Campo Smith and one at Pian del Sole at the arrival point of the 4-seater chairlift) for children as well as entertainment organized by the instructors of the Mountain Bike school.

The Bardonecchia Kona Bike Park has:
•400 km of tracks at an altitude of 1300 to 3009 metres
•3 lifts for transporting bikes and bikers
•more than 49 signposted tracks that are labelled according to their difficulty
•Junior Park and entertainment for children
•Bike repairs, washing and general assistance
•Mountain bike school
•Specialized bike hire: children, cross country, free ride, downhill
•Bars, restaurants at the base and on the mountainside
•Hotels specialized for bike tourism (equipped rooms, bike washing, biker's lunch)

Getting There

Bardonecchia is the the Valle di Susa in north west Piedmont on the border with France. It is well connected by road, train (both national and international connections) and airport (Milan, Turin, Chambery and Geneva are all within easy reach of Bardonecchia

Bardonecchia is about 50 minutes away from Turin by motorway, 1 hour from Turin and 2 hours from Milan by train. The international airport of Turin Caselle is about 1 hour away.

By car:

• From Milan: take the A4 motorway towards Turin, continue on the A32 towards Bardonecchia.
• From Turin: take the A32 Turin-Bardonecchia motorway and take the Bardonecchia exit or the highway (SS24 and 335 that goes through the Valle di Susa to Bardonecchia).
• From Lyons: take the A43 motorway towards the Frejus tunnel. The first exit immediately after the tunnel is Bardonecchia.

By train:
The international Rome to Paris train goes through Bardonecchia. There are direct trains from Turin (1 hr), Milan (2hr) and Paris (4hr 15 min).

There is a new bus service from Turin airport to Bardonecchia (with the company Cavourese Autolinee) – a reasonably priced way of reaching the resort. Booking at least 48 hours in advance is compulsory via the internet: www.extraservice.it/buscharter.

Red Tape

Recommendations to ensure that you may enjoy yourself in complete safety whilst respecting the nature and the people around you.
• Keep to the signposted paths and ensure that you don’t go against the flow of the bike traffic
•Do not exceed your own limits and always proceed at a moderate speed.
•Be careful and courteous when overtaking or passing walkers (who always have the right of way).
•Check that your mountain bike is in good working order before you set off.
•Make sure you have the right equipment with you including something to eat and drink.
•If you are cycling alone please inform friends or family in advance of your planned itinerary.
•It is highly advisable to wear a helmet.
•Respect private and farm property.
•Be careful when you are near motorized and agricultural vehicles.
•Respect the environment, the flowers and the woodland. Do not go off the tracks.
•Respect the animals.
•Take any leftovers with you.

Please remember that you are in a mountain environment - you may find natural obstacles in your path and the weather can change suddenly. If you are a relative beginner and are afraid of getting lost please book a mountain bike instructor to accompany you
