Thanks for the vote and comment.
The photo is shot in the extreme north of Tibet. The landscape up there is mostly flat, but the altitude is also very high. The average is close to 5000m. In other parts of Tibet the topography is extremely "hilly" with lots of high peaks. I'll add more photos from both parts when I can access my photos. In Tibet at the moment.

As desolate as the moon. The place where the photo is shot is about 30 days away from where we left the last road.

If you just make it here, it's really cheap to travel around. 3-4$/day for food. Wild camping is great here and as a biker you wont spend anything on transport ;-)

I'll keep that in mind. I guess the only major expense is the plane ticket and some time off away from work. Safe ride always!

Yes, if there's any place on earth where you find peace and quiet, it's in the north of Tibet. Completely uninhabited. At one time we didn't see any single human being in 24 days.

It's one of my favorites as well. It really shows what my riding is all about when in the outback of the Tibetan high plateau. The desolation, how barren it is and those strong colors of really high altitude (5100m).

Thank god you aren't condemned to such an uncertain ride for an eternity !

I surmise that the extended periods of isolation were source of much revitalising meditation which transforms a city dweller into some zen activist in love with the earth and the heavens !

The extended periods of isolation are interesting in many ways. Long story, but what's always hard is to come back to civilization again. So much input all of a sudden.
