What I call the "Henryków hills" in indeed a part of the Strzelin hills. Since I have already cycled the region (starting from the Strzelin, see page), I decided to call this one Henryków hills as I started from Henryków to explore the southern half.
These hills are not very high, but they have very nice forests and are covered by a dense network of tracks. A nice region not far from my city, where riding is possible most of the year. Like this beautiful Sunday, which I decided to use to savour the last moments of the golden polish autumn.
This trail consists in following most of the red-marked route, despite not all segments can be reasonnably cycled. The dorsal track is flat enough, but following exactly the path is quite hilly !
Leaving Henryków, we cross the beautiful park Henrykowski (blue trail, with a surprising bumb in one moment). Then we follow the road to reach the village Skalice. Follow the bike path, which is not exactly the same as the green hiking path (which goes on top of a rock-climbing crag !).
We reach this way the main red trail, with a possible diversion to the East to make the circuit longer.
As we cross the road, the continuation is slightly on the right, and approaching the hill Mlecznik, the trails starts to be a real MB trail.
As we go near Buczalek, the trail makes a diversion on the left, and this corresponds to a fun descent. However, the return to the ridge can only be done via the track, not the red-marked footpath; which we join back as we take the very fist junction left once we reach again the dorsal trail.
as we go near Buczek, another diversion takes us down on the left again. No need to climb up, we can folow the trail, unmaked, until we reach a blue trail which climbs, below the asphalt road, back to the ridge.
The return can be made the same way, or the simpliest way by following the edge trail until the road, and get back to Henryków.
We can make both this trail and the neighbouring north half to make a fine ride of one whole day.
Henryków is quite simple to reach from Wrocław. We take Ulica Bardzka on the south, and keep going on this road all the time straight on, even afer the bridge on the motorway, until Henryków. In Henryków, there is a free car park near the monastery, after we pass it in the bend on the road.
But many other starting points are possible, like the pass at Witostowice.

When to Bike
Spring, Summer, Autumn, and even winter if no snow. Make sure it was not raining recently, even more than 2 days ago, otherwise you will come back completely muddy and dirty, since water from rain flows into the weelprints of many of the tracks.
