Jacob's Ladder Loop Videos

In my view Jacob's Ladder Loop (starting from Hayfield) is the best ride in the Peak District. It has it all. Tough climbs, screaming downhills and awesome technical sections. That's not to mention the stunning scenary when the weather is good. Pack that into one 3hr ride and you have MTB heaven!

I have used the GoPro Helmet Cam for the video footage on this album. All videos were shot on the above 3hr ride. Note how the weather can change!!

Descent of Jacob's Ladder.

This is an amazing technical descent from Edale Cross to the bottom of Jacob's Ladder. It is exactly 1 mile of descent dropping 644ft.

Descent of Part of Rushup Edge

After a tough climb (bike a hike) up Chapel Gate "Road" a short technical descent down part of Rushup Edge keeps the adrenalin flowing!

Descent to Roych Clough

This is a tricky little section. As you hit the left hander the fun starts! Serious slabs and drops put a big smile on your face. Only spoilt by the gate! After the ford is an amazing climb of 1.25 miles and 540ft. Really steep at the start and technical at the end, but all do-able.

From Mount Famine to PBW Downhill

From the back of Mount Famine this fast descent drops to the Pennine Bridal Way (PBW). Its tricky with the water bars and the view is a big distraction too!

The Pennine Bridal Way

This is a great section with technical stuff too. But watch out for horses and walkers.

I'm really impressed with how clear everything is and the wide angle takes everything in nicely!

Yeah its a good little camera. I waited for the price to come down. Much cheaper than the HD equivalent but fine for my application. I thought it would be really hard to set up the angle right. Just guessed it and its pretty well spot on.
