NHxcguy4th time is the charm

My last (4th time) trip to Moab we were going to do the Whole Enchalada (starts at Burro Pass) but didn't get an early enough start so we took the shuttle up as far as Hazzard County. What a blast!! It was like Porcupine x2. Do it if you have the time...

Sounds incredible. But not sure that I'll be returning anytime soon unfortunately. Not unless I get a job in the US. Hum - now there's a thought!!

wisemtnbknGreat Ride Scary Finish
I've only ridden this once but would love to go back. It was in 2005 and unfortunately before I had a camera. Rode with Dustin & we started in the Slick Rock campground and ended up the road by the river and Negro Bill Canyon. The end was very technical and frightening. I remember walking quite a bit of it.

A few snowy spots, but completely rideable. Trail is in good shape.

srclimb1Prickly to say the least!

You can start at Sand Flats campground, ride up to the trailhead and make the loop back down into town and back into Sandy Flats. I think 25 miles with 3,000' of climbing. Not so tough normally, but the desert heat is REAL...4,500' elevation

Steady Grind

The trail conditions were great...except for the muddy hill that I had to hike a bike down (fell and slid in the mud for 20 feet). Started at the upper trailhead which added 2 or three miles miles of decent and cut out the initial 3 mile climb.

LOVED this ride...the loose rocks and ledges reminded me of a lot of rides in Montana that I'm used to. Would recommed this to anyone!

Slickrock gets all the press, but I would rather ride Porcupine any day. We rode it as a loop from the slickrock parking lot and the climb back to the truck was never ending. I'll shuttle it next time for sure.

I've looked forward to doing this one for years. I was not disappointed. In my view one of the best all round trails. We rode early morning to avoid the heat.
