The Colorado Trail is a jewel of a trail system, traveling over 500 miles from Denver to Durango over 8 mountain ranges. Many miles of glorious, high alpine singletrack provide huge opportunities for all day (or multi-day) adventures in the thin air.

Getting There

With 28 sections and 500 miles of trail, the start and end points are entirely up to you. Waterton Canyon (SW of Denver) provides a good starting point for those in the Denver metro. Other popular choices of entry points are Kenosha Pass (SW of Denver on Hghwy 285), Gold Hill near Breckenridge and Searle Pass near Copper Mountain.

Red Tape

There are 6 Wilderness areas in which mountain bikes are not allowed.
