Winter's Last Gasp?Well I knew that there was snow on high ground but it had been a glorious spring day the other day. I needed to ride and got more than I bargained for on Jacob's Ladder. The weather was filthy. Gail force winds and driving hail pounded into my face. On the way up, two mountain Rescue ambulances were coming down with a casualty. At the top of the descent I looked down and thought, "If there had been two of us? But not on my own." I didn't fancy waiting on an ambulance!! I was frozen and improvised a balaclava with my windproof then turned round and enjoyed a blowy descent back to Hayfield.
Was this winter's last gasp? I hope so!
